Ottawa's sights cluster in three groups. The political core sits on Parliament Hill above the Ottawa River, with the National War Memorial and Château Laurier a short walk away. The national museums are spread across the city — the National Gallery of Canada, Canadian Museum of History, Canadian War Museum, Canadian Museum of Nature, and Royal Canadian Mint are all within walking distance or a short transit ride. The Canada Aviation and Space Museum and Diefenbunker are further out but well worth the trip. And then there are the neighbourhoods and parks: Gatineau Park for wilderness, Major's Hill Park for views, and Central Experimental Farm for the improbable pleasure of watching cows graze within sight of Parliament.
