National Gallery of Canada

Canada's premier art collection, from Group of Seven to contemporary Indigenous work

Canada's national art museum, housed in a glass-and-pink-granite Moshe Safdie building that mirrors the Library of Parliament across the river. The collection is the country's best, with strong holdings of the Group of Seven, Emily Carr, and contemporary Indigenous art. The international wing covers everything from medieval altarpieces to Warhol. Outside the entrance stands Louise Bourgeois's enormous bronze spider Maman, one of six casts in the world.
