A small formal garden on the south bank of the Avon, planted with the herbs and flowers mentioned in Shakespeare's plays. Each bed is labelled with the relevant quotation — rosemary for remembrance, rue, fennel, columbines — which is more charming than it sounds, especially if you have just seen a play.
The garden is free, open dawn to dusk, and a pleasant detour on the riverside walk between the Avon and Festival theatres.
