Peake's Wharf is the main public access point to Charlottetown Harbour, a restored 19th-century commercial wharf now occupied by boutique shops, a restaurant, and the departure point for harbour cruises. The wharf itself is a pleasant place to spend an hour — walking out over the water, watching the sailboats at the adjacent marina, and getting a sense of the harbour that shaped the city's early economy.
In summer, harbour tours depart regularly from the wharf. These 45-minute boat trips give a good view of the city from the water and explain the harbour's role in the Confederation story. The wharf is also the social centre of the Charlottetown waterfront, busiest in the evenings when the light is on the water.
