St. Peter's Cathedral

St. Peter's is the Anglican cathedral, a Gothic Revival building from the 1870s that is quieter and less visited than St. Dunstan's but architecturally more interesting. The Cathedral Room at the east end contains murals painted by Robert Harris, the Charlottetown-born artist responsible for the famous Fathers of Confederation painting that hangs in the Centre Block in Ottawa. The murals here — depicting biblical scenes — are among the few remaining examples of his decorative work and are worth the short detour from the main sights.

The church is usually open during the day. The grounds include a small chapel garden that is a pleasant spot to sit.
