Christ the King Cathedral

Christ the King Cathedral is the seat of the Diocese of Gaspé and one of the more unusual churches in Quebec. Built in 1969, it is a wood-framed Roman Catholic cathedral with a sharp modernist form, clad in red cedar and shaped more like a boat than a traditional stone church.

The interior is plain but handsome, lit by skylights set into the sloping roof. It is a quick stop in the center of Gaspé, but a memorable one if you like modern religious architecture.
