Lake Mégantic is the town's obvious anchor: a 27-square-kilometre lake used for boating, fishing, swimming, and simple shoreline wandering. In the centre of Lac-Mégantic, Parc des Vétérans and Place Dourdan give easy access to the water without needing to drive out to a beach.
Come here first to get your bearings. The marina, park lawns, and lake views explain why the town feels more like a small resort than an inland service centre.
