La Promenade Samuel-De Champlain turns a long stretch of former industrial riverfront into one of Quebec City's best places for an easy walk, ride, or sunset view. The park follows the St. Lawrence with paths, lawns, lookouts, public art, and river access that make the water feel much closer than it does from the upper town.
It is not a substitute for Old Quebec, but it rounds out the city well, especially for travellers who want open space after the walled centre. Go by bike or combine it with a longer riverside walk; the views are broadest in clear weather when ships and the south shore are visible across the water.
