Bars and Cafes in Québec City

The Grande Allée is Québec City's main bar strip, a long boulevard lined with bars and terrasses just outside the old city walls. In summer it gets very busy on weekend evenings; in winter the action moves indoors. Dagobert is the biggest club on the strip, with multiple floors and a large dance floor open until 3am. The rue Saint-Jean, inside the old walls, has more neighbourhood pubs and a slightly younger crowd. Pub Saint-Alexandre on rue Saint-Jean is the best beer bar in the Old City, with over 250 varieties.

The Saint-Jean-Baptiste neighbourhood outside the walls has LGBTQ+-oriented bars, including Bar Le Drague. Café Temporel on rue Couillard is the best neighbourhood café in the Old City for an unhurried morning coffee.

Bars close at 3am throughout Québec.
