Parc du Bois-de-Coulonge is a polished stretch of lawns, gardens, and mature trees on land once attached to Quebec's lieutenant-governor's residence. It gives Quebec City a gentler green space than the Plains of Abraham, with river breezes, formal planting, and traces of the old estate layout.
It is best for a slow break from stone streets and sightseeing. The park is not as essential as the old city, but it rewards travellers who like historic landscapes and want a quiet walk in a part of Quebec City many short visits miss.
