Bars and Cafes

The bar scene in Cahuita is small and unhurried, which suits the village perfectly. This is a place where an evening out means nursing a rum cocktail while reggae plays at a volume that allows conversation. Things get livelier on weekends when visitors from Puerto Limón come down for the weekend, but even then it does not approach the noise level of Puerto Viejo to the south. The bars here are social hubs as much as drinking spots — places to find out what is worth doing the next day.
