La Paz Waterfall is the headline cascade in a private cloud-forest nature park north of Heredia, close to the Poás Volcano route. It is a polished attraction rather than a wilderness scramble, but the waterfalls are genuinely powerful and the surrounding wet forest gives the visit a strong sense of Costa Rica's highland ecology.
The site works best as a half-day trip from Heredia or San José, especially if you combine it with the park's trails and animal sanctuary. Expect admission costs and a managed experience; if you want solitude, arrive early and avoid treating it as a quick roadside photo stop.
