The canals behind Parismina are part of the same watery lowland system that makes Tortuguero famous. A small boat can slip through brown rivers and green channels where toucans, herons, monkeys, sloths, and crocodiles are all possible.
The advantage here is quiet. Parismina has fewer boats than Tortuguero, so a canal trip can feel more like moving through a working Caribbean landscape than joining a queue of wildlife tours.
