Most of what is worth doing on this coast is run by the communities that live on it, and ATEC on the main street is how you reach them — a non-profit representing around a hundred guides in sixteen villages, booking the Yorkín river trip, the Kékoldi hawk watch, the cacao farms, night walks and surf lessons.
Bicycles are the local transport: the beaches south to Punta Uva and Manzanillo are an easy ride, and hire shops are everywhere in town.
