Golfo Dulce

Golfo Dulce is the calm inland sea that gives Puerto Jiménez its setting. The gulf separates the Osa Peninsula from Golfito and Piedras Blancas, and its sheltered water makes boat trips, dolphin watching, kayaking, and lodge transfers possible.

Do not expect a single viewpoint or entrance gate. The gulf is a landscape to move through, best experienced from a small boat at dawn or late afternoon when the forested shores catch the light.

A story
Golfo Dulce is one of the rare tropical fjord-like gulfs in the world, deep, warm, and partly enclosed by rainforest. Humpback whales use the sheltered water, and dolphins are often seen on boat trips.
