Chirripó is a fourteen-kilometre walk from the village up to the Crestones base refuge, climbing something like two thousand metres, and then a pre-dawn push to the summit at 3,820 metres. Park entry and a refuge bed must be booked separately through SINAC, and they sell out months ahead.
What this outfit provides is the part you cannot book online: guides, and porters who carry loads between Herradura and Paso de los Indios and back down from Crestones. Above Paso de los Indios everyone carries their own.
