La Gran Piedra is a huge mountain rock and viewpoint above Santiago de Cuba, with a botanical garden nearby. The altitude makes it cooler than the city, and the road up can bring clouds, mist, and rain even when Santiago is hot.
Go for the mountain setting and the change of climate rather than a polished attraction. Older taxis may struggle on the climb.
