The Nutmeg Pod sits right on the Carenage with a terrace overlooking the inner harbour. It has been a fixture of St. George's for many years and serves reliable local food: fresh snapper, lobster when in season, the ubiquitous oil down, and rum punch that arrives in a proper glass with a decent measure. The view is hard to beat, especially at lunchtime when the harbour is at its most animated.
The menu is not long, but what's on it is well cooked and honestly priced. The fish cakes to start and the flying fish main are good choices. Service is unhurried in the Caribbean way, which is worth factoring into your afternoon plans.
