Calle Santander is Panajachel's main tourist street, running toward the lake through a corridor of textile stalls, cafes, tour agencies, money changers, and souvenir shops. It is commercial and sometimes repetitive, but it is also useful: this is where you arrange shuttles, replace lost gear, and get your bearings.
The shopping is best if you know how to bargain politely and can recognise quality weaving. Many goods come from elsewhere in the highlands, so do not treat every stall as a local cooperative. For a quick meal, coffee, or evening wander, the street does its job.
