Getting There

Cap-Haïtien International Airport (CAP/MTCH) is the main entry point for visitors to northern Haiti and has remained more reliably operational than Port-au-Prince's Toussaint Louverture Airport during periods of unrest in the capital. Several airlines operate services from Miami and other Caribbean hubs.

By road from Port-au-Prince, the journey takes 4–6 hours depending on road conditions and the political situation — the north highway has been disrupted at times by security issues. In practice, flying in and out of CAP is the sensible option for most international visitors.
