Labadie Beach

Cruise ship beach with public access and water sports

About 15 kilometres west of Cap-Haïtien, Labadie occupies one of Haiti's most beautiful bays — turquoise water, steep green hills, white sand. Much of the bay is leased to Royal Caribbean as a private cruise stop, so on days when a ship is in, the beach fills with day-trippers. Arrive by moto-taxi or tap-tap from the city.

The public side has its own restaurants, waterpark facilities, and water-sports rentals. When no ship is docked it's often quiet enough to feel like your own private beach. The contrast with the poverty of Cap-Haïtien 15 kilometres away is striking.
