Choluteca is on the Pan-American Highway, making it easily accessible by bus from Tegucigalpa (about 2.5 hours) and from the Nicaraguan and El Salvadoran borders. Regular buses and minibuses connect the city with all three border crossings. There is a small airport but regular passenger service is limited; most travellers arrive by road.
