The central park is Siguatepeque's social hub — a proper town square with benches, shade trees and the usual vendors selling cold drinks and snacks. In the evenings it fills with families, teenagers and the occasional musician. It is not grand by Central American standards, but it has the relaxed atmosphere of a place where people actually use it.
The square is flanked on one side by the Iglesia San Pablo, and the low colonial buildings surrounding it give the whole area a settled, unhurried feel. San Pablo is the town's patron saint, and the annual fiestas — celebrated with processions, food stalls and fireworks — turn this square into the centre of everything.
