Getting There

Siguatepeque sits on the CA-5 highway, the main route between Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, which makes it one of the easiest towns in Honduras to reach by bus. Direct services from both cities run throughout the day; the journey from Tegucigalpa takes around two hours, from San Pedro Sula around two and a half.

From Tegucigalpa, take any bus heading toward San Pedro Sula and ask to be dropped in Siguatepeque — most companies pass through. From San Pedro Sula, the same applies in reverse. Buses stop on or near the main street in the centre of town rather than at a separate terminal.

Comayagua is about 30 to 45 minutes south on the same highway — a natural combination stop if you are travelling between Siguatepeque and the capital. Palmerola International Airport, which serves Tegucigalpa, is close to Comayagua and represents a possible entry point for travellers heading north.

There is no train service in Honduras.
