By air: Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport (IATA: FDF) is at Le Lamentin, about 10 kilometres east of Fort-de-France. Direct flights operate from Paris-Orly and Paris-CDG (roughly 8 hours) with Air France, Air Caraïbes, and Corsair. Air Caraïbes also flies from Nantes. From North America, direct service runs from Miami, Montreal, and Toronto. Connections from other Caribbean islands are available via LIAT and Air Caraïbes.
By ferry: L'Express des Îles operates passenger ferries between Martinique and Guadeloupe, Dominica, and Saint Lucia several times a week. The crossing to Saint Lucia takes around 90 minutes; to Guadeloupe around 3.5 hours. Schedules vary seasonally — check the L'Express des Îles website before planning around a specific sailing. The ferry terminal is in central Fort-de-France, walkable from the city centre.
Arriving by cruise ship is also common; the cruise terminal is near La Savane park in Fort-de-France.
