The Presqu'île de la Caravelle is a protected nature reserve jutting eastward into the Atlantic from just outside La Trinité. The peninsula is about ten kilometres long and mostly uninhabited — scrubby dry forest, dramatic sea cliffs, and narrow trails threading through thorny vegetation to viewpoints over the open Atlantic. On clear days you can see Dominica to the north.
The main trail runs about 3.5 kilometres from the car park to the lighthouse at the peninsula's tip, passing through the reserve and ending near the ruins of Château Dubuc. The round trip takes about two hours at an easy pace. Wear shoes with grip — the trail can be muddy after rain — and bring water, as there is no shade for long stretches. The swimming at Anse de l'Etang beach on the south side of the peninsula is excellent, protected from the Atlantic swell by a reef.
