La Trinité's main draw is the Presqu'île de la Caravelle, a rugged peninsula extending several kilometres into the Atlantic just east of town. The peninsula is a protected nature reserve with excellent hiking, dramatic coastal scenery, and at its far eastern tip, the ruins of Château Dubuc. The bay in front of La Trinité itself is popular with watersports — windsurfers and kiteboarders make good use of the consistent Atlantic trade winds from December to April.
Within the town, the waterfront market and fishing harbour give a sense of the working town beneath the tourist surface. The Atlantic coast of Martinique is noticeably different in character from the calmer Caribbean west coast — rougher seas, wilder scenery, and far fewer resort crowds.
