Jardin de San Marcos is a shaded, sociable garden west of the historic centre, enclosed by a handsome balustrade and tied closely to the Feria Nacional de San Marcos. Outside fair season it is a pleasant place to slow down; during the fair it becomes part of the city's main stage.
The garden is most useful as a way to understand Aguascalientes' public life. Come in the evening, when families, couples, and vendors make the place feel lived in rather than preserved.
