The Temple of San Marcos is one of the main historic churches in Aguascalientes, built over a long stretch between 1604 and 1765. Its Baroque facade and interior art make it more than a neighbourhood chapel, and it anchors the San Marcos area west of the old centre.
It pairs naturally with the nearby Jardín de San Marcos. Visit both together to see the part of the city most closely tied to the Feria Nacional de San Marcos, the huge annual fair that gives Aguascalientes much of its national profile.
