Cenote Cocalitos sits on the lagoon edge south of town, with clear water and a setting that looks made for long swims. It is also one of the places where stromatolites are most discussed, which means care matters.
Do not stand on the formations or push into roped-off areas. The best visit is simple: swim where allowed, float, look closely, and leave the living geology alone.
