The beach is the main reason most people come to Barra de Navidad. It runs the entire length of the sandbar — about 2 km — with the full force of the Pacific arriving without obstruction. The sand is dark and volcanic, which absorbs heat during the day, so bare feet in the afternoon require some haste.
