Getting There

By road, Cuautla is about 100km southeast of Mexico City via the autopista México-Cuautla (toll road). The journey takes 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic — less on weekdays, more on Friday evenings when half of Mexico City appears to be heading the same direction.

Buses run frequently from Mexico City's TAPO (Terminal de Autobuses del Oriente), operated by Cristóbal Colón, OCC, and smaller regional lines. The terminal is well connected to the Metro (San Lázaro station), making it straightforward to reach from central Mexico City without a car. From Cuernavaca, about 60km to the west via Yautepec, local buses run regularly throughout the day.
