By air -- Guadalajara's Miguel Hidalgo International Airport (GDL) is about 20 km south of the city centre. It handles direct flights from major Mexican cities and several US destinations. Taxis and buses connect the airport to the centre in 30--45 minutes depending on traffic.
By bus -- Long-distance buses run from Mexico City (6--7 hours), Puerto Vallarta (4--5 hours), and most major cities. The main bus terminal is the Nueva Central Camionera on the southeast edge of the city. Second-class buses to nearby towns like Tequila and Chapala leave from the old bus station near Parque Agua Azul.
