Parque Revolución is the main green space of the Colonia Americana neighbourhood and one of the more pleasant plazas in the city — shaded by large trees, populated by locals at all hours, and far less touristy than the plazas around the Cathedral. A series of bronze statues of Mexican revolutionary leaders stands around the park, including figures of Carranza and Madero.
The park sits on the Avenida Juárez corridor near the Templo Expiatorio, which makes the surrounding streets good for cafe-crawling and bookshop browsing. This is the neighbourhood where Guadalajara's intellectual and creative class tends to gather.
