Casa de Tia Aura is Guanajuato at its most theatrical: part old house, part local legend, part staged ghost story. Visitors move through furnished rooms, dark corners, and melodramatic tableaux that play on the city's taste for mummies, tunnels, and macabre history.
Do not come expecting a sober historical museum. Come if you enjoy odd local attractions and want something that feels very different from the churches, plazas, and university views. It is kitschy, but in Guanajuato that is not necessarily a flaw.
