The Aeropuerto Internacional del Bajío (BJX), 40 km south near Silao, has direct flights from major Mexican cities, several US hubs (Houston, Dallas, LA), and a handful of European charters. Airport shuttle and taxi services run to Guanajuato city (about 45 minutes).
The Central de Autobuses is on the western edge of the city. Frequent first-class buses connect to Mexico City (4–5 hours), San Miguel de Allende (90 minutes), Guadalajara (3 hours), and most other major cities. The bus station is connected to the centre by city bus or taxi.
There is no train service. Driving is straightforward via federal highways from Mexico City or San Miguel; parking in the city is limited, and the tunnels disorient first-time drivers. Most central hotels can arrange parking.
