Church of San Diego

The Church of San Diego is the surviving church of a 17th-century Franciscan convent, standing beside the Jardin de la Union and Teatro Juarez in central Guanajuato. Its ornate rococo facade is one of the strongest pieces of colonial architecture in the historic center.

The church is easy to include while walking Guanajuato's main plazas. Its location also makes it a useful anchor for understanding how the city's religious, civic, and theatre spaces cluster tightly together.
