Plaza de la Paz

The triangular plaza at the geographical heart of the colonial city, dominated by the yellow façade of the Basílica de Nuestra Señora and surrounded by the eighteenth-century mansions of the silver-mining elite, most now banks, hotels, and government offices. The eponymous "Peace" monument at the centre commemorates the peace of 1903 that ended the Reform Wars. A pleasant place to sit for an evening coffee.
