Buho's sits right on Playa Norte — tables on the beach, sun loungers for hire, and a bar that starts serving the moment the first ferry arrives. It is the most famous beach bar on the island and earns that status: the margaritas are large and properly salted, the palapa roof provides genuine shade, and the setting, with the turquoise water a few steps away and the sun arcing over the Cancún skyline, is as good as a beach bar gets.
It gets crowded in high season, especially around sunset. Come for the afternoon and claim a spot early. The food is secondary to the drinks — go elsewhere for a proper meal — but the bar snacks are fine and the pace is ideal.
