Santuario de Nuestra Senora de la Soledad

Santuario de Nuestra Senora de la Soledad is one of Jerez's important churches, built in 1805 on the site of a former hospital for Indigenous people. Its Neoclassical body has Baroque flourishes, and the design is said to have drawn inspiration from the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

Inside, the focus is the image of the Virgin of Solitude, a local devotion with a strong place in the town's religious calendar. The sanctuary is also commonly used for weddings, so it can feel more lived-in than a purely historic monument.
