Cafe Pancamo

Specialty-coffee roaster on Plazuela Machado, the best espresso in the old town

Pancamo opened on the Plazuela Machado in the mid-2010s as one of the first specialty-coffee places in Mazatlan, and is still the best espresso in the old town. They roast their own beans, mostly from the highlands of Chiapas and Veracruz, and the menu is the standard third-wave card: pour-over, flat white, cold brew, plus a small selection of pastries.

The shopfront on the corner of the plaza, with a few outside tables under the arcade, is one of the better mid-morning perches in the Centro Historico — quiet, shaded, and well-positioned for watching the square come to life.
