Getting There

By road from the US: Nuevo Laredo is directly connected to Laredo, Texas by four international bridges. The Gateway to the Americas bridge and the Juárez-Lincoln bridge carry most tourist and commercial traffic. Crossing times vary enormously — budget an hour or more during peak hours and on weekends.

By road from Mexico: Highway 85 connects Nuevo Laredo to Monterrey in about 2.5 hours. Monterrey is the nearest major Mexican city and the natural hub for onward travel into Mexico's interior.

By air: Nuevo Laredo has a small international airport, but flights are limited. Most travelers arriving by air use Laredo International Airport on the Texas side, or fly into Monterrey and drive north.

By bus: Long-distance bus services connect Nuevo Laredo to Mexico City, Guadalajara, and other major Mexican cities. The central bus terminal is in the city centre.
