Getting There

Querétaro is well connected to Mexico City, which is about 200 km to the southeast. First-class buses (ETN, Primera Plus) run frequently from Mexico City's Terminal del Norte, taking around 2.5 to 3 hours. This is the most comfortable and reliable way to arrive. The bus station in Querétaro is about 5 km from the historic centre; taxis are available outside.

By car, the autopista MEX-57D runs directly from Mexico City to Querétaro, a comfortable drive of about 2.5 hours without traffic — allow more at weekends.

Querétaro has its own international airport, the Ing. Fernando Espinoza Gutiérrez International Airport (QRO), located about 25 km from the city centre. It has direct flights from several US cities including Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Chicago, as well as domestic connections. An Aeropuerto Taxi from the airport to the centre takes about 30–40 minutes and costs roughly 300–400 pesos.

San Miguel de Allende is about one hour away by bus or car and makes an easy combination — many visitors split a long weekend between the two cities.
