Zona Centro Market

The commercial heart of the old town spreads through several blocks of the Zona Centro, a dense grid of stalls, small shops, and covered passages. This is where Reynosa does its everyday shopping: boots and leather goods, electronics, clothing, hardware, and a full range of northern Mexican provisions.

The leather market is particularly good. Local workshops produce hand-tooled cowboy boots, belts, and bags at prices considerably lower than what you would pay across the border in Texas. Bargaining is expected. The electronics stalls carry a mix of legitimate goods and grey-market imports — nothing illegal in Mexico, but worth bearing in mind if you are heading back across the border.
