Mercado González Ortega is a handsome 19th-century market building in the centre of Zacatecas, now adapted for shops and casual eating rather than raw produce. The ironwork and stone shell are more interesting than many of the modern businesses inside.
It is still worth a look while crossing the historic centre, especially if you need a low-effort snack, coffee, or a break from churches and museums.
