Peruvian restaurants have proliferated across Latin America in the past two decades as ceviche and lomo saltado won international audiences. Managua has several good Peruvian options, and La Terraza Peruana on the Carretera Masaya strip is among the better ones — a proper sit-down restaurant with a full menu of ceviches, tiraditos, causas, and grilled dishes, run by a Peruvian family.
The ceviche de camarón (shrimp ceviche with leche de tigre, red onion, and chilli) is the standout dish and worth the visit alone. Main courses run $8–15. The restaurant is reliable for a lunch after a morning visiting the Huembes market or a dinner before heading out toward the airport. The staff speak some English. Reservations are not usually needed except on Friday evenings.
