Parque de las Ciencias Luis A. Ferré

The Parque de las Ciencias is Bayamón's main attraction: a sprawling open-air science and recreational park with a planetarium, a small zoo, a natural science museum, and themed pavilions dedicated to transportation, rocket science, and archaeology. It is particularly popular with families — children can wander between exhibits on grounds that feel more like a park than a museum.

The transportation pavilion has a collection of vintage cars and aircraft, including a Douglas DC-3 you can walk through. The planetarium runs daily shows in Spanish, and the small zoo holds Puerto Rican fauna alongside more exotic species. The grounds are well-shaded and pleasant for a morning, with food kiosks and benches scattered through.

A story
The park was the brainchild of Luis A. Ferré, an engineer-turned-governor who believed Puerto Rico needed a place where children could learn about science by climbing on the exhibits. When it opened in 1986 it included a transportation museum built around vintage cars and a real DC-3 you could walk through.
