Ponce has its own airport, Mercedita (PSE), with direct flights from the US mainland. Most visitors fly into San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport and drive south — the journey takes about 90 minutes on the autopista. Públicos (shared vans) also run between San Juan and Ponce from the main terminals.
