A no-nonsense local lunch place on Bay Road in Basseterre, beloved by Kittitians and a small number of in-the-know visitors. The menu is short and entirely West Indian: goat-water stew, conch, stewed oxtail, fried fish, all served with rice and peas, plantain, and macaroni pie.
Portions are generous, prices are low, and the dining room is no-frills — Formica tables, plastic chairs, and a constantly turning crowd of office workers and taxi drivers. Open Monday through Saturday for lunch; arrive by 12:30 to be sure of getting goat-water before it runs out.
