Eating Out

Kittitian food draws on West African, English, and French traditions filtered through the sugar economy: salt-fish, stewed conch, goat-water (a mutton stew with breadfruit), pelau, and a near-religious devotion to grilled fresh fish. You'll eat well at simple beach bars and small Basseterre restaurants; finer dining is mostly tied to the south-peninsula resorts.
